PRECIPITATION PROJECT  OVERVIEW
GUIDING  QUESTION:
The students generated poster illustrations along with captions to
convey their knowledge of precipitation.  Ideas surfaced and we
organized them into a Precipitation Web.  We shared subtopics
labeled: types of precipitation, effects of precipitation, and
precipitation observations.  The children were led to the guiding
question...Are There Patterns In Precipitation?  Several class
discussions and sharing took place and then students began to
investigate.  The students chose the form of research which best fit
their learning style.  Some children went to the library, others the
computers, and a few chose the non-fiction resources in the
classroom. Days passed and many children brought in books, magazine
articles, and Internet resources to share from home.
